What is your background in design?
I started Surry Place in September 2021 and have completed dozens of personalized home designs, for primary residences as well as second homes and vacation properties. I have completed 3 full home renovations with full oversight of the design and construction.
What if I don’t like the design or products chosen for me?
My goal is to make sure you are satisfied, and my promise to you is to create a design that is thoughtful and beautiful. I will thoroughly assess the needs and wants of each client so I can provide a design that is exactly what you are looking for. Each package comes with free edits for a 2 week period, you can have me make as many changes as you want until the design is perfect.
Am I committed to purchasing the recommended products?
No. You will receive a mood board that contains embedded links to each product to allow a simple shopping experience. The link will take you to the website where the item can be purchased, but it is up to you if you purchase the item or not.
Do you complete the project work/construction?
I do not complete project work. Once you have your design, you can choose how you want to move forward with implementation, either DIY or hiring a contractor. I have a primary contractor I partner with that can provide an estimate on your project work, as well as several other sub contractors I can recommend for niche jobs. I offer project implementation services which included contractor collaboration, site visits, and obtaining material samples.
How do you come up with a design style?
I focus on 6 specific design styles: Farmhouse, Modern, Rustic, Industrial, Bohemian and Traditional. Most designs are a combination of elements from 2 or 3 styles, based on the client consultation. Your personalized design plan will include a unique style concept, decor aesthetic, and color palette. Some of my past projects have been: rustic cabin charm, minimalistic modern with farmhouse character, cozy retreat with boho and rustic vibes, modern farmhouse with rustic elements.
